MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO November 19, 2009 – Shaw Tracking, a Shaw Communications Company (TSX: SJR.B and NYSE:SJR), the leader in mobile communications for the Canadian Transportation industry, today announced Wallace & Carey Inc. has purchased Shaw Mobile, a mobile fleet and freight management system.
“Our purchase decision was based primarily on the 16 week Return on Investment that we will achieve from using Shaw Tracking technology. We couldn’t afford not to move forward with the solution. Since implementation we have already seen an 80% reduction in idle time and related emissions. Which provides huge cost savings, not to mention improves our carbon footprint. Doing what we can to be a responsible corporate citizen is a high priority at Wallace & Carey,” said Peter Predko, Director of Sales & Operations, Wallace & Carey Inc.
“Based on the ECM data we review on a regular basis we have started a program in which we post driver score cards weekly and reward them for having met company set benchmarks. It’s great to see our drivers taking a proactive approach to their driving habits, based solely on knowing areas that they could improve on, idle time and RPM’s,” continued Peter Predko.
“Wallace & Carey have met with our Professional Services team and have identified several key areas of their operations that will benefit financially from the information they are now collecting. They are better able to manage their fleet and associated costs. They have set aggressive targets and we look forward to their success in meeting them,” said Mike Ham, Vice President Business Service, Shaw Tracking.
